Pendant l’essentiel de leur existence sur terre, les êtres humains auraient vécu au sein de petits clans de chasseurs-cueilleurs. Puis l’agriculture aurait fait son entrée, et avec elle la propriété privée. Enfin seraient nées les villes, marquant l’apparition non seulement de la civilisation, mais aussi des guerres, de la bureaucratie, du patriarcat et de l’esclavage.
Ce récit pose un gros problème : il est faux.

Contrary to conventional accounts, Abdelal argues that neither the U.S. Treasury nor Wall Street bankers have preferred or promoted multilateral, liberal rules for global finance. Instead, European policy makers conceived and promoted the liberal rules that compose the international financial architecture. Whereas U.S. policy makers have tended to embrace unilateral, ad hoc globalization, French and European policy makers have promoted a rule-based, "managed" globalization. This contest over the character of globalization continues today.

Ce rapport démontre que non seulement les grandes banques continuent de financer massivement les énergies fossiles mais également que ce type de financement peut constituer un danger de toute première importance pour la stabilité financière et monétaire.
En effet l’exposition brute aux actifs fossiles d’un certain nombre de banques excède le niveau de leurs fonds propres. En d’autres termes, les actifs fossiles pourraient devenir les « subprimes » de demain.
Pour sortir de cette situation, les auteurs proposent plusieurs solutions concrètes visant à permettre aux banques de se délester de leurs actifs fossiles en échange d’un engagement ferme à mieux financer la transition écologique (structure de défaisance), mais aussi des réformes profondes de la politique monétaire et prudentielle pour accompagner ce mouvement.
Eric Zemmour utilise les mots comme des armes. Et d'abord contre la langue elle-même. Sous sa plume, le sens se brouille, les concepts politiques s'inversent, l'ironie et le grotesque attaquent comme un acide les valeurs humanistes. La torsion des mots et de l'histoire y est la norme. L'obsession raciale omniprésente. Pourtant ses fictions fascinent... Pourquoi ?

Ou religion d'un Christ glorieux qui légitimerait une souveraineté politique autoritaire, carnivore, phallocratique et colonialiste ? Telles sont quelques-unes questions que pose ce livre.
